Adios amigos – One of our Assistants flies the nest (last seen in Australia..!)
February 09, 2011
It’s been almost exactly a year since I started here and so much has changed since then…from our website to our studio to the many new designs we have so much fun creating.
I started off wrapping the orders ready to be posted, then moved onto making and designing masks. From day one (when I turned up 45 minutes late because I was trying to get into the wrong door!) I couldn’t have felt more at home amongst the flowers, ribbons and feathery loveliness that fill our studio. It’s been great to work with such a small and close-nit team who just love what they do, and I have genuinely looked forward to coming into work every day…not many jobs you can say that about!
I have very fond memories of our old studio where the ceiling plaster rained down on our heads every time someone in the gym upstairs dropped a weight, Dolly Parton on Spotify, a few cheeky lunchtime trips to the pub and Christmas time when we were all constantly covered in glitter and wearing matching thermals to ward off the cold.
Despite the shelves and boxes full of beautiful materials to play with, I’m leaving behind a rather gruesome legacy of zombie and leather masks…
So 2 floods, 1 fire, 2 break-ins and I don’t know how many hundred masks later its time to move on to sunny Spain, but only after promising to stay in touch forever! I’m leaving at a very exciting time for the company with lots of new ideas in the pipeline and a general buzz in the air about the year ahead. I wish you all the success in the world and cant wait to see where you’ll be in another years time.
Thanks for everything Martin, Samantha, Katrina (and Beth!)
